We have lots of exciting events happening here this spring in La Cantina.
We enjoyed our first Beaujolais Nouveau dinner on the 21st November, we’ll do this every year so hopefully see some of you next year. And we loved having Damiano from Tutto Wines down for our annual Campanian Christmas feast on December 5th.
Our annual New Year’s Eve dinner was a big success - again check that out next year. And in February we were joined by resident Venetian, Adriana Zanchi, for Cicchetti night on Giovedi Grasso (Fat Thursday) - to celebrate the start of Carnevale.
Pasta workshops on March 20th, 21st and April 4th, with more to be added for April & May.

Feast of Ferrara
Back in January Thom came back from Ferrara with stories of spiced ravioli and sweet meat pies. On Friday March 28th we’ll celebrate the unique food of Ferrara with a wonderful 3 course menu inspired by that trip.
The menu will feature Culatello di Zibello con Pinzini (cured ham served with “little pinches” of dough), Pasticcio Ferrarese (traditional pie of truffled macaroni and rich meat ragu in sweet pastry), Salame di Cioccolato (meat-loving Ferrara’s answer to dessert - a terrine of dark chocolate and biscuits, rolled to resemble salami!).

Good Friday Dinner
Come and spend Good Friday evening with us here at La Cantina. A very important day in Italy where families come together to eat and celebrate, Simona will cook a 4 course Easter dinner featuring dishes from her home town.
Think dishes like Agnello con Piselli (Lamb & Pea Stew), Fianchetto ripieno (beef stuffed with frittata) & Columba (Italian Easter Panettone), to name a few! We'll be partnering with Dispaccio who'll be pouring wines from Canlibero & Cantina Disordine in Campania.

Italian-American Night
A special night with Simona and Aaryn, our resident American, who will team up in May for an Italian-American feast. Inspired by our recent trip to New Orleans, where we visited the city’s iconic Italian resturant Irene’s, the menu will feature classic Italian-American dishes, like muffaletta, penne alla vodka, chicken parmigiana, & American sized canoli.
We'll be pouring our favourite wines from Italian winemakers in the US, so if you like your spaghetti served with a pile of meatballs, come join us at La Cantina for a night of Italian-American cooking you won’t want to miss!

Giovedi Grasso alla Cantina
Our dear friend Adriana Zanchi hails from Burano, a charming little island in the Venetian Lagoon. Join us at La Cantina to celebrate 'Giovedi Grasso’ - Fat Thursday, the last Thursday before Lent that is celebrated in Italy every year.
We’ll be serving lots of delicious ciccetti, (Venetian snacks) throughout the evening, drinking wonderful wine from The Veneto and dressing up in our finest for Carnevale!

Sant’Antuono Abate
A beautiful day and tradition back home is that of Sant’Antuono Abate on the 17th January. We make Lavanelle, a type of pasta made with just flour and water, cut into thick strips, and with this we make and eat a delicious chickpea & chilli broth. We light a fire, perhaps a little like Bonfire night here in the Uk.
This Friday evening we will make pasta together, and a broth, and then sit and eat together and wish for health & prosperity in the New Year.

Christmas pickling workshop with thom eagle

Beajolais nouveau supper

An evening with gaetano & gabriele from robb de matt
One of my first jobs when I was 16 was working at Gaetano’s wine bar in my village.
Years on, when Harry & I were starting Bottega, Gaetano was starting out with his winery. We dreamed of having a restaurant and selling his wines.
This December 12th, that dream is a reality, Gaetano and Gabriele will fly in and we’ll cook dinner, and drink their wonderful wines.

Cicchetti night (SOLD OUT!)
Our dear friend Adriana Zanchi is bringing the flavours of the Lagoon all the way from Burano to Margate!
Join us on the evening of Wednesday, July 26th to get a taste of her home, a charming little island in the Venetian Lagoon. Hopefully the sun ☀️ will shine and our little piazza will feel like a Venetian campo: a couple of cicchetti, a campari spritz and lots of good vibes.
Expect some classics like baccalà mantecato (whipped salt cod), sarde in saor 🐟 (sweet and sour sardines), polenta of course, and some beautiful natural wines 🍷 from the region.
