We have lots of exciting events happening here this autumn & winter in La Cantina.

We enjoyed our Beaujolais Nouveau dinner on the 21st November, we’ll do this every year so hopefully see some of you next year. And we loved having Damiano from Tutto Wines down for our annual Campanian Christmas feast on December 5th.

Coming up we have our New Year’s Eve dinner - email us to book, and pasta workshops on January 16th, 17th and 24th, with more to be added for February and March.

Sant’Antuono Abate

A beautiful day and tradition back home is that of Sant’Antuono Abate on the 17th January. We make Lavanelle, a type of pasta made with just flour and water, cut into thick strips, and with this we make and eat a delicious chickpea & chilli broth. We light a fire, perhaps a little like Bonfire night here in the Uk.

This Friday evening we will make pasta together, and a broth, and then sit and eat together and wish for health & prosperity in the New Year.

All equipment and ingredients are included and drinks will be available.

One of my first jobs when I was 16 was working at Gaetano’s wine bar in my village.

Years on, when Harry & I were starting Bottega, Gaetano was starting out with his winery. We dreamed of having a restaurant and selling his wines.

This December 12th, that dream is a reality, Gaetano and Gabriele will fly in and we’ll cook dinner, and drink their wonderful wines.

Cicchetti night (SOLD OUT!)

Our dear friend Adriana Zanchi is bringing the flavours of the Lagoon all the way from Burano to Margate!

Join us on the evening of Wednesday, July 26th to get a taste of her home, a charming little island in the Venetian Lagoon. Hopefully the sun ☀️ will shine and our little piazza will feel like a Venetian campo: a couple of cicchetti, a campari spritz and lots of good vibes.

Expect some classics like baccalà mantecato (whipped salt cod), sarde in saor 🐟 (sweet and sour sardines), polenta of course, and some beautiful natural wines 🍷 from the region.

The perfect place to grow

Some of you who’ve visited over the last month or so will have noticed the table toppers explaining the new project we’re working on along with Angela’s and Dory’s.

The Perfect Place To Grow will be a cafe and training kitchen here in Margate aimed at supporting young adults into employment.

Many of you have kindly donated for which we are incredibly grateful.

On Saturday July 1st we’re holding a big old fundraiser @faithinstrangersmargate with some of Margate’s finest chefs, mixologists, DJs and artists getting involved.

Margate’s a wonderful place, we’re very grateful to be here, thankful to all of those who support us, and excited for this new project.
